NEWS: be careful dudes!! Dangers of Laptop

Laptop positioning seen as risk to male fertility A recent study's findings, published in the journal "Human Reproduction," raise concern with how laptops are being used by men, specifically regarding increased temperature in the scrotal area. State University of New York researchers found that the laptops' heat, combined with how men tend to sit with their legs together while using them, increases the temperature in the genital area.

During the study of 29 volunteers aged 21 to 35, the researchers saw the laptops' surface temperature rise ~16 degrees (87.8 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit) after an hour of use, and 1.8 degrees after just the first 15 minutes. This temperature rise goes on top of the fact that when men just sit with their legs together they create an average scrotal temperature increase of almost four degrees Fahrenheit. Adding a laptop increased the temperature even more: 4.7 degrees to the left of the scrotum, and 5 degrees to the right.

Increased temperature in the area is directly correlated with a low sperm count, and thus fertility issues.
