26 Jan and now 26 Dec. Is something fishy with the dates??

26 Jan 2001, Gujarat is rocked by an earthquake, bringing with itself unprecedented damage. Several people lost their lives, and several others suffered losses of various kind.

Now, 26 Dec 2004, South India and some of the South East Asian is hit by a Tsunami, again causing massive loss of life, infrastructure. Nothing escaped the 750 Kmph, 35 m high Killer waves. Just within few minutes many cities were devasted. I recently read that India and Sri Lanka not the member of some Internation Organization(cannot recall its name) which gives notifications of any potential tsunami. Japan is a member that organization because japan is regularly hit by tsunamis. But, even if they are they are not member should the organization not have informed India and Sri Lanka, many lives could have been saved for sure. Many of the people who died were tourists, people who were jogging on sea shore and many other similar unfortunate people. The question is is that is it ethical that such organizations do not give information? No body including knew about the approaching tsunami! Otherwise the govt would have definitely alerted the palces in danger.. Like they caution fishermen when there are chances of something going wrong in sea?

Thousands of life Vs A petty tie up with an organization??

If you notice carefully, both the massacres occured on 26th of the month.. If the pattern continues.. the world(most likely INDIA) may see something on 26 Nov 2007. God knows the best.
